Energy

Yieldbridge Energy Ltd. was established in 2022 to continue the work initiated by Yieldbridge's principals over a decade ago.

The original initiative focused on assessing the feasibility of individual First Nations communities disconnecting from expensive grid power and generating electricity internally from natural gas using a relatively simple process.

The model's viability depended on the availability of natural gas in close proximity to the community lands. In Alberta, many communities had natural gas wells on their lands or nearby, which could be made available to them at "preferred pricing." Other communities were in a position to drill natural gas wells for their own use.

This initiative also aims to benefit communities that rely on diesel fuel to generate electricity, contingent on the availability of a sustainable natural gas source.

The Yieldbridge Energy team has now expanded its focus to include certain waste-to-energy solutions that may be viable and sustainable in specific communities, including co-generation.

Natural Gas

Sources can include utility gas services if priced reasonably, gas directly from "local" producers, or gas produced by the community from its own resources.

Power Generation

Most leading generator manufacturers/distributors now offer a range of natural gas generators to suit small to very large scale power production needs.

Distribution

An electrical substation may be required (if not already on site), which will connect to the community's distribution infrastructure

which should already exist.
